Scottsdale Water Resources Administrator Kevin Rose has been recognized as the Operations Leader of the Year at the AZ Water Conference held in April. In addition to this accolade, Scottsdale Water received multiple safety awards across its facilities.

Rose joined Scottsdale in 2017 and has since established himself as a respected leader within both the division and the city. He oversees 180 employees and manages 80% of the division’s operating budget, directing all utility operations including water, wastewater, and recycled water management, along with SCADA and instrumentation controls.

“I’m humbled and honored to receive such praise, especially from the peers I work with and employees I serve,” Rose expressed. “It’s really my employees who make the difference and at Scottsdale Water, we have some of the most knowledgeable and dedicated staff who I’ve ever had the privilege to work with.”

The safety performance of Scottsdale Water was also highlighted at the conference. Eight different operations were awarded for their safe practices. The Award of Honor for maintaining zero lost days over a year was given to:

- Wastewater Collection

- Scottsdale Water Reclamation Plant

- Central Groundwater Treatment Facility

- CAP Treatment Plant

- Advance Water Treatment Plant

- Gainey Ranch Treatment Plant

Chaparral Treatment Facility and Scottsdale Water Production/Distribution group received Awards of Merit for having less than the maximum number of lost days during operation.
