City of Scottsdale issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.
Back to the basics. To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, get vaccinated as soon as you can and wear a mask indoors whenever you can’t maintain physical distance of six feet or more. Scottsdale is in high transmission which is defined as greater than 100 cases per 100,000 people. The latest date shows our COVID-19 case rate is 156.9 cases per 100,000 residents. For context, 156.9 cases per 100,000 means there were about 390 new cases over a seven-day period. Find a vaccine or attend the Thursday, Oct. 14, free walk-in pop-up event (see below for details).
Scottsdale is hosting a free follow-up walk-in vaccination pop-up event. Those needing a vaccine or who received their first dose Sept. 23 at our pop-up event can get their second dose from 1:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at the same location – Eldorado Park Community Center, 2311 N. Miller Road. We are partnering with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health who will be administering the Pfizer vaccine – which is approved for ages 12 and older.
