Goodyear Fire Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 11.
Strong reminder to keep the areas around your stovetop clear. Never place kitchen towels and especially paper towels close to the stove.
This was knocked down quickly by a fire extinguisher before the sprinkler system was triggered.
Stay in the kitchen when something is on the stove, turn off burner if you need to walk away.
