Goodyear Fire Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
Recruits, Red Shirts or wanna be firefighters! This group of nine people started with the City of Goodyear July 12, 2021. Their 14 week training academy started August 2nd.
Their goal is to complete the academy and become a Goodyear Firefighter. But, the academy is only the beginning! As a probation firefighter, they are still required to continue their basic skills training and complete their task book for the next 12 months.
