Goodyear Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.
GYPD wanted thank the responding officers of Squad Blue 2 for positively impacting the community. We also wanted to share this letter we received from a resident:
I just wanted to thank the Goodyear officers who responded to a wellness check for my neighbor on 6/27/21.
The first responding officer was so professional and conscientious, showing dignity for all involved and great compassion. I truly believe his actions helped save my friend’s life, and then he went above and beyond to take care of her dog and bring the pup here until she is released from the hospital. What could have been a tragedy turned out to be a miracle. A little 9-year-old boy didn’t lose his mom because of this officer’s care.
Thank you again for all you do to protect our community! We are blessed to have such amazing professionals to call in an emergency.
