The Commission of African-American Affairs paid an average compensation of $68,250 during 2018, according to data compiled by The Arizona Republic. Arizona public employees as a whole averaged 13 percent less with a compensation of $59,597. Total compensation is made up of an employee's annual salary with the addition of any overtime pay earned throughout the year.

The highest-paid public employee working for the Commission of African-American Affairs—Cloves Campbell—earned $68,250 as the director.
