Scottsdale is calling on its residents to engage with the community by applying for open positions on various citizen advisory boards, commissions, and committees. These volunteer roles allow individuals to contribute to city policies and recommendations.

There are 12 vacancies across nine public bodies. These include the Airport Advisory Commission, Judicial Appointments Advisory Board, Loss Trust Fund Board, and Neighborhood Advisory Commission. The Scottsdale City Council depends on these groups for research and insights that influence significant decisions.

Residents interested in participating must submit an online application by Friday, Feb. 21. Current openings are available in several commissions:

- Airport Advisory Commission (1 opening)

- Building Advisory Board of Appeals (2 openings)

- Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (1 opening)

- Environmental Advisory Commission (1 opening)

- Human Relations Commission (2 openings)

- Judicial Appointments Advisory Board (1 citizen representative opening)

- Loss Trust Fund Board (2 openings)

- Neighborhood Advisory Commission (1 opening)

- Parks and Recreation Commission (1 opening)

Detailed information about each board's role can be found at ScottsdaleAZ.gov by searching "Boards and Commissions."

Applications will be kept on file for one year. After reviewing submissions, the Scottsdale City Council will nominate candidates for interviews and appoint new members in March. Selected individuals must complete a training session and comply with the city's Ethics Code before starting their term.
