A new pedestrian underpass has been completed at the Hayden and Chaparral intersection in Scottsdale. The $5 million project, part of the Indian Bend Multiuse Path, aims to enhance safety by reducing conflicts between pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles. This initiative allows for longer green-light times for motorists. Funding was provided through federal grants and Scottsdale’s Transportation Sales Tax.
Scottsdale is also conducting a biennial community survey to gather residents' opinions on various city programs and services. Selected households will receive postcards with instructions to complete the survey online. The feedback will help prioritize future initiatives, with results expected in spring 2025.
