Greg Caton, Scottsdale's interim city manager, has announced a series of organizational changes aimed at streamlining city operations and enhancing support for services and staff. These adjustments follow the departure of former Assistant City Manager Bill Murphy.

Three experienced leaders within the organization have been selected to take on expanded roles, overseeing areas with similar functions. Judy Doyle, who has been with the city for over 22 years, will now manage several business-oriented city functions including Scottsdale Airport (Aviation), Tourism & Events, WestWorld, McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, and Scottsdale Stadium.

Nick Molinari, a veteran of 27 years in the city's service, will be responsible for the Scottsdale Parks and Recreation Department as well as the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Department. Meanwhile, Kira Peters will oversee Human Services, the Community Assistance Office, and Scottsdale Library after serving 28 years with the city.

These changes signify a transformation of the Community Services Division into three distinct areas under these leaders' guidance. The reorganization is set to take effect on February 10.

Caton expressed optimism about the potential benefits of this restructuring: “This reduces a layer of management and creates efficiencies with these operations reporting directly to the city manager. With these changes, the vacant assistant city manager/executive director position will not be filled.”
