The city of Scottsdale has entered into a partnership with Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA) to offer protection for water and sewer service lines to homeowners. This program is entirely voluntary and does not incur any cost to the city.

According to the announcement, "no public funds are used to promote or administer the program, and no names or addresses were provided to this company for mailing purposes."

Homeowners in Scottsdale have several options for service line warranties as multiple private insurance companies provide similar coverage. The decision to purchase this type of insurance is personal. Residents are advised, "check your current homeowner's policy before purchasing additional insurance or adding a warranty."

For more information about SLWA, residents can visit their website at www.slwofa.com.
