The Maricopa County Elections Office has finalized its tabulation process for the recent election. Nearly 89% of Scottsdale voters participated, marking the highest turnout in over four decades. Key positions such as the Scottsdale mayor, City Council seats, and two city propositions were decided.
Lisa Borowsky was elected as Scottsdale’s mayor for her first term based on the unofficial final results from Maricopa County. Adam Kwasman and Maryann McAllen secured their initial terms on the City Council. They will assume office in January 2025 along with Jan Dubauskas, who was elected during the July 2024 primary election.
Scottsdale voters also addressed two ballot measures. Proposition 490, which implements a 0.15% city sales tax rate effective July 1, 2025, received approval from 58.25% of voters. The revenue generated will exclusively fund improvements and maintenance for city parks and recreational facilities, as well as the McDowell Sonoran Preserve's upkeep.
Additionally, Proposition 491 was approved by 66.15% of voters, permitting an increase in the city's state-imposed expenditure limitation baseline.
The election results will be made official after they are canvassed by the Scottsdale City Council on Friday, Nov. 22.
