The Protect and Preserve Scottsdale Task Force is inviting residents to participate in a questionnaire aimed at gathering opinions on the quality of life and open space preservation in Scottsdale. This initiative, led by a nine-member group appointed by the City Council, seeks to develop financial strategies for maintaining the city's open spaces. The questionnaire covers various topics including parks, public safety, and recreation funding, and is available online until November 19.

In another effort to engage the community, Scottsdale will host a workshop addressing noise impacts within the city. Scheduled for November 7 at the Community Design Studio, this event will explore potential ordinance changes and mitigation methods related to noise.

Scottsdale's Veterans Day commemoration on November 11 will feature Michael McLaughlin as the keynote speaker. McLaughlin, a retired Rear Admiral from the U.S. Navy with a notable career in submarine forces, will address attendees at Scottsdale City Hall. Mayor David D. Ortega will emcee the event alongside representatives from local veterans organizations.

Additional Veterans Day activities include performances by The Jazz Ambassadors of The United States Army Field Band on November 9 and free entry for military personnel at Maricopa County's Regional Parks on November 11.

Public meetings are scheduled throughout early November covering various city issues such as planning and education. Residents are encouraged to attend these sessions to stay informed about local projects and initiatives.

Upcoming events include an Old-Fashioned Pancake Breakfast fundraiser hosted by the Scottsdale Historical Society on November 11 and a Civil War Roundtable lecture featuring John Matteson on November 14.

Programs like "Little Scientists" for young children continue through December at the Family Resource Center, while vaccination services are offered at Paiute Neighborhood Center in collaboration with Maricopa County Health.

Residents can also contribute feedback on future skatepark designs during a pop-up event at Eldorado Park’s Wedge Skatepark on November 18 or participate in workshops regarding Scottsdale Parks and Recreation’s master plan process.

Scottsdale continues its commitment to community engagement through programs like Neighborhood College classes that provide educational opportunities across several topics related to local history and governance.
