The city of Scottsdale has issued an update following the City Council's executive session held on January 24. The meeting focused on legal matters concerning the Rio Verde Foothills area, which is part of unincorporated Maricopa County. This region has seen some development without a planned water supply.
According to state law, discussions in the executive session remain confidential. However, the city acknowledges that solutions are being considered at both county and state levels. Scottsdale urges Maricopa County, as the elected local government for Rio Verde Foothills residents, to spearhead discussions aimed at finding potential solutions for their constituents.
Scottsdale remains open to discussing resolutions that align with its Drought Management Plan mandated by the state and ensure no adverse effects on water resources for its residents.
