Scottsdale senior centers host Oktoberfest and Día de Los Muertos events

Fall marks the beginning of event season in Scottsdale, with two significant celebrations scheduled at local senior centers. These events aim to provide entertainment and cultural enrichment for residents.

The Via Linda Senior Center will host an Oktoberfest celebration on Tuesday, October 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees can enjoy brats, root beer, music, raffle prizes, and socializing opportunities. Doors open at 11 a.m., and lunch is served at 11:45 a.m. The event costs $7 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Due to limited space, registration is required by visiting Recreation.ScottsdaleAZ.gov and searching 'Oktoberfest.' The center is located at 10440 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.

On Friday, October 28, the Granite Reef Senior Center will celebrate Día de Los Muertos from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature traditional Ballet Folklorico dancers who will honor Mexican culture through dance performances. A meal will also be provided during the celebration. Doors open at 11 a.m., with lunch served at 11:45 a.m. The cost is $7 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Registration is necessary due to limited space; interested individuals can register by visiting Recreation.ScottsdaleAZ.gov and searching 'Muertos.' Granite Reef Senior Center is located at 1700 N. Granite Reef Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
