WestWorld, a major event venue in Scottsdale, Arizona, has significantly contributed to the state's economy, according to a recent study by the Arizona State University Seidman Research Institute. The research indicates that WestWorld's operations for 2023/2024 added $163.6 million to the state's GDP and generated $85.6 million in labor income. Additionally, it supported 1,813 jobs across Arizona and brought in $4.8 million through Transaction Privilege and Transient Tax collections.
The economic impact assessment focused on non-local visitors' spending and excluded Scottsdale residents to highlight new financial inflows into the local economy.
In other news, Scottsdale received recognition for its efforts in resident engagement by winning the 2024 Voice of the People Award for Excellence in Online Engagement for a second consecutive year.
