The Scottsdale Police Department is seeking community input as it undergoes a Year 1 re-accreditation review with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA). To maintain its accredited status, the department must meet 462 standards. Accreditation lasts four years, during which the agency must submit annual reports confirming adherence to these standards. The department has held CALEA accreditation since 1994.

Community members are encouraged to provide written comments and feedback regarding the department's compliance with accreditation standards, community engagement, public safety service delivery, and overall candidacy for accreditation through a provided link.

On October 25, 2024, a CALEA compliance service member will begin reviewing the Scottsdale Police Department’s policies and procedures, management practices, operations, and support services.

More information can be found on the department's website.
