CITY OF SCOTTSDALE: Scottsdale Video Network March program guide

City of Scottsdale issued  the following announcement on Feb. 24

In addition to our live stream, find Scottsdale Video Network on Cox channels 11 and 1011(HD), and Century Link channel 8001.

Public meetings

(Public meeting times are subject to change or cancellation.)

City Council – Live coverage begins at 4 p.m. March 3 and 17. Meetings replay the following Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 7 a.m. Council meetings are closed captioned. 

Development Review Board – Live coverage begins at 1 p.m. March 5 and 19.

Human Services Commission – Live coverage begins at 5 p.m. March 12.

Parks and Recreation Commission – Live coverage begins at 5 p.m. March 18.

Planning Commission – Live coverage begins at 5 p.m. March 11 and 25. Meetings replay the following Saturday at 5 p.m., Sunday at 11 a.m. and Monday at 7 a.m.

Tourism Development Commission – Live coverage begins at 8 a.m. March 17.

Transportation Commission – Live coverage begins at 5:15 p.m. March 19.

Addicteen - Six valley teens are challenged to give up their addictions: social media and tobacco. See what happens. Tuesdays at 2:30, 7:30 and 11:30 a.m.; 3:30, 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.

Building Hoover Dam - Learn about how one of the 7 wonders of the industrial world was built. Watch historical footage of the construction of Hoover Dam in this film produced by the U.S. Department of the Interior in the 1950s. Cinetime – Enjoy an independent film that was highlighted at Chandler’s International Film Festival. Saturdays at 4 and 9 a.m.; 1, 5, 8 and 11 p.m.

City Information – Watch for information on City of Scottsdale events, programs and services. Daily at 5 and 10 a.m.; 2 p.m. and midnight.

Civil Dialogue Series: "The People's History: An O'Otham Perspective" - Get a glimpse into the livelihood and culture of the Gila River and Salt River Indian communities. Tuesdays at 3 and 8 a.m.; noon, 4, 7 and 10 p.m. Watch it now.

Honoring Preserve Pioneers - On Oct. 3, 1994, the Scottsdale City Council took a historic step when it passed Resolution No. 4103, formally establishing the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. This is the story of the foresight and vision of the community to permanently protect the McDowell Mountains and Sonoran Desert. MLK Celebration - Scottsdale’s celebration serves as a signature event for the entire valley that includes nationally renowned speakers representing a myriad of diversity perspectives honoring the history and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Fridays at 3 and 8 a.m.; noon, 4, 7 and 10 p.m. Watch it now.

Neighborhood College – These programs help provide residents, neighborhood groups and homeowners associations with the information, resources and tools needed to become effective neighborhood leaders. Saturdays at 2, 7 and 11 a.m.; 3, 6 and 9 p.m. 

One Short Ride - He was going for a short ride on his ATV, just out and back. Except he almost didn't come back. Brought to you by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Mondays at 4 and 9 a.m.; 1, 5, 8 and 11 p.m.

Pinnacle Peak Trails - Take a walking tour of this favorite hiking park in north Scottsdale and discover its geological past. Thursdays at 4 and 9 a.m.; 1, 5, 8 and 11 p.m. 

Roof Rats & Bees: What do you do? - Officials from Maricopa County Environmental Services answer common questions about roof rats and bees around your home. Tuesdays at 2, 7 and 11 a.m.; 3, 6 and 9 p.m.; Thursdays at 4:30 and 9:30 a.m.; 1:30, 5:30, 8:30 and 11:30 p.m.

Sprinkler's Clubhouse – Sprinkler the clown educates children on safety in the home, at school and at play. Daily at 6 a.m. 

Yesterdays: Charlie and Gwen Briley - From the old Channel 11 archives comes this interview show featuring former city manager Dick Bowers talking with Charlie and Gwen Briley, former owners of the Pink Pony restaurant. Charlie recalls the drive to bring baseball spring training in Scottsdale starting in 1956. They reminisce about the baseball stars who came into the restaurant, including Dizzy Dean, Joe DeMaggio and Roger Hornsby. Wednesdays at 4 and 9 a.m.; 1, 5, 8 and 11 p.m.; Thursdays at 2, 7 and 11 a.m.; 3, 6 and 9 p.m.
