State Representative Alexander Kolodin has introduced a new election reform plan aimed at enhancing the accuracy and security of Arizona's electoral process. The proposal, known as HCR2013, draws inspiration from Florida's voting system and includes several measures designed to improve election outcomes in Arizona.

Kolodin, who serves as the Chairman of the House Ad Hoc Committee on Election Integrity and Florida-Style Voting Systems, outlined key components of the resolution. These include enhanced address verification to prevent ballots from being sent to incorrect addresses, replacing signature verification with early ballot ID numbers for more efficient processing, eliminating late-early ballots to expedite results, and prohibiting foreign funding in elections.

In his statement, Kolodin highlighted Florida's success in achieving quick and secure election results, which he believes leads to higher public satisfaction. He emphasized that these reforms could provide Arizonans with similar benefits by improving voter access and ensuring accuracy.

The committee will hold a public forum on January 15 at 2 p.m. in House Hearing Room 4 to discuss these proposed changes and gather feedback from the community.

Alexander Kolodin is an attorney and Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives for Legislative District 3. His district includes North Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, and Rio Verde in Maricopa County. More information can be found by following him on X/Twitter at @realAlexKolodin.
