Scottsdale hosts events celebrating art, veterans day, Halloween, Dia de Los Muertos

Explore the "Power of Play" at Canal Convergence from November 3 to 11. This event focuses on play as a creative and meaningful human activity. The free, outdoor public art event spans ten nights and features light-based artworks, workshops, family activities, tours, live performances, and more.

One notable feature is the One Water Brewing Showcase, where attendees can enjoy craft beers made with Scottsdale's recycled water on November 3 and 4. Scottsdale Water provides this ultra-pure recycled water for the event.

The Scottsdale Veterans Day commemoration will take place on November 11 at Scottsdale City Hall. Michael McLaughlin, a retired Rear Admiral of the U.S. Navy, will be the keynote speaker. Mayor David D. Ortega will emcee the event.

Scottsdale is hosting several public meetings in late October, including those for the Protect and Preserve Scottsdale Task Force and City Council sessions.

Halloween events include a Fall Festival at Chaparral Park on October 28 and Spooky Stories of Scottsdale presented by Bruce Wall. Dia de Los Muertos celebrations feature various art installations and performances through early November.

Music lovers can attend a free concert by The Scottsdale Concert Band on October 25 at Scottsdale Community College. Additionally, the city celebrates its Civic Center remodel with numerous activities through November 22.

Other events include Dreamy Draw Music Festival on November 3-4 at Scottsdale Civic Center and ongoing attractions like Spook-Trac-Ula until October 31.

The Old Town Farmers Market runs every Saturday through June offering organic produce and other goods. Various programs are available such as Prescription Drug Take Back on October 28 at two locations in Scottsdale.

Neighborhood College classes continue with topics covering local history and unique criminal cases in Scottsdale's past.

Scottsdale's Economic Development office received an award for its promotional video showcasing business opportunities in the city. The Sister Cities Association hosts a student golf exchange with participants from Killarney, Ireland.

A Senior Human Services Analyst position is open in Scottsdale offering various benefits including medical coverage and retirement plans.
