The city of Scottsdale has launched an online platform, Speak Up Scottsdale, aimed at fostering continuous conversation among residents, businesses, and the city. This initiative is part of the city's efforts to implement the Collaboration and Engagement chapter of the voter-approved Scottsdale General Plan 2035.

Scottsdale collaborated with ATOM Innovation, a local research and design firm, to develop this platform. Speak Up Scottsdale allows participants to share insights, opinions, and feedback on various city initiatives and local issues.

"Scottsdale relies on and highly values our residents' opinions and perspectives. The Speak Up Scottsdale initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to ensuring that the city's decisions resonate with the desires of our community," said Scottsdale Mayor David D. Ortega. "We are excited to partner with the experts at ATOM Innovation – a Scottsdale company – to create a space where residents can collaborate, share and actively contribute to our city’s future."

Participants in this program engage in two to three online activities monthly. Currently, around 200 residents are discussing topics such as connection within Scottsdale, recreation services, and youth vaping.

The platform uses ATOM Innovation’s STREAM Research® methodology for extended engagement with end users. This approach ensures that collected feedback reflects the community's evolving sentiments accurately.

Insights from these discussions may influence city policies and initiatives. Participants will also receive information about new programs and projects in Scottsdale.

To join this civic engagement effort, visit SpeakUpScottsdale.com or search “get involved” on ScottsdaleAZ.gov for more participation opportunities.
