Participants have until February 8 to take part in a self-guided open house and share their views on the growth and development of Scottsdale's Old Town. This call for public input aligns with proposed updates to the city's Old Town Scottsdale Area Plan and downtown sections of the city's Zoning Ordinance. The Old Town Scottsdale Character Area Plan, last updated in 2018, is the comprehensive policy document guiding growth and development decisions for downtown Scottsdale.

Feedback will be gathered on various topics, including the Old Town Vision and Values, Quality Development, Open Space, Mixed Use Development, Development Types and Building Height, Development Flexibility & Bonus Provisions, among other related items. Each session includes a presentation and questions specific to each topic for participants to answer. To engage in the update process, individuals are encouraged to visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search "Old Town Updates."

As updates to the Old Town Plan and Zoning Ordinance advance through public participation and hearing processes, more participation events will be available, along with draft content for public review. Residents are urged to remain engaged by visiting ScottsdaleAZ.gov and searching "Old Town Updates."
