The Scottsdale City Council has adopted a new ordinance requiring short-term and vacation rental property owners to obtain a license. This measure, which aligns with Arizona Senate Bill 1168, mandates that existing properties secure licenses by January 8, 2023. New rentals must comply before being listed for rent. The annual fee is set at $250 per property.
In another development, Scottsdale Fire will join a University of Arizona-led study funded by a $4 million grant to explore cancer risks among firefighters. This research aims to assess whether blood or plasma donations can reduce "forever chemicals" levels encountered in firefighting activities.
