With March Madness underway, Caitlin Clark, a guard for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, has gained acclaim for her remarkable scoring ability, pinpoint passing, and knack for delivering clutch performances when it matters most.

Scottsdale Planning Specialist Caitlin Clark recently had a unique opportunity that brought her in contact with her namesake, the basketball star. She received a LinkedIn message from an L.A. producer seeking a real-life Caitlin Clark, leading to her involvement in a Xfinity commercial alongside the college basketball phenom.

Caitlin described the experience as nerve-wracking but ultimately enjoyable, saying, "I had fun with it." She was asked to perform tasks like dribbling and shooting hoops, which were unexpected but added to the whirlwind of the filming day. Reflecting on the challenges of portraying a basketball player, Caitlin humorously mentioned, "Dribbling a ball between my legs doesn't quite work."

Despite the physical demands and unfamiliar territory, Caitlin embraced the opportunity to be compared to the basketball enigma, acknowledging the player's influence on women's basketball and college sports. She highlighted the resemblance and identical spelling of their names but humorously pointed out, "Athletic? Not so much."

For Caitlin, the commercial was not just a showcase of her namesake's basketball skills but also a chance to bring attention to city planning and Scottsdale. She remarked, "It was fun to put city planning and the city of Scottsdale on the map."

While Caitlin Clark may not pursue a professional basketball career, her experience in the commercial will be a memorable chapter in her professional journey.
