National lifestyle eyewear brand Shady Rays has launched a new charitable foundation, Shady Rays Impact. The company has a history of giving back, previously donating ten meals with every order to fight hunger through Feeding America and partners. This initiative has led to more than 25 million meals being donated in the U.S.

Shady Rays' Founder and CEO Chris Ratterman highlighted that the new program would enable them to expand charitable efforts both nationally and internationally. “Through research and listening to our customers, we’ve identified some amazing, deserving nonprofits that make a difference for so many each and every day,” Ratterman stated.

Alongside hunger relief, Shady Rays has supported causes such as Autism Acceptance, Breast Cancer Awareness, and Veteran and Military Organizations. Ratterman emphasized the company's commitment to giving back, stating, “Launching Shady Rays Impact will allow us to provide even more support and resources to individuals and organizations who are making life-changing impacts in their communities every day.”

This year, Shady Rays Impact will focus on four key charities: ROC Solid Foundation, First Descents, V Foundation for Cancer Research, and Feeding America. Eric Newman, founder and chief play officer of Roc Solid Foundation, expressed enthusiasm for their partnership, saying, "We are thrilled to be partnering with Shady Rays to build hope for kids fighting cancer."

V Foundation CEO Shane Jacobson added, “We are extremely grateful for Shady Rays and their partnership in 2023.” Ryan O’Donoghue, CEO of First Descents, expressed similar sentiments, noting, "Shady Rays’ generous contribution will have a substantial impact on the communities we serve."

Shady Rays employees will volunteer their time to these efforts, sharing stories from these nonprofits with their customers. Ratterman noted the growth and commitment of the brand, stating, “It’s a commitment we’ve made as a brand - to use our growth for good.”
