The City of Scottsdale is inviting residents to apply for positions on various boards and commissions. These opportunities are open to those interested in contributing to the community's governance and development.

Among the openings, there are two citizen member positions available on the Judicial Appointment Advisory Board. These roles are exclusive to Scottsdale residents who are not serving as judges or members of the State Bar of Arizona, including retired judges. The board is responsible for helping the City Council appoint city judges, evaluating their performance, and advising on retention.

Additional vacancies include:

- Two openings on the Board of Adjustment

- Three openings on the Development Review Board

- One opening each on the Environmental Advisory Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, Neighborhood Advisory Commission

- A position for a Scottsdale Hotelier on the Tourism Development Commission

- One opening on the Transportation Commission

Details about these boards' functions can be found by searching "Boards and Commissions" at ScottsdaleAZ.gov.

Residents interested in applying must submit an online application by October 31. Applications remain valid for one year. The City Council will review applications in November and conduct interviews and appointments in December. Appointees must adhere to the city's Ethics Code and complete a training session before starting their terms.
