Space is becoming increasingly busy, with projections of over 100,000 satellites and payloads launching in the next ten years. This growing concern highlights the urgency of developing systems to identify, track, and monitor the burgeoning orbital traffic.

On April 24, 2025, a discussion will be held with Dr. Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation, along with Dr. Vishnu Reddy, the Director of the Space4 Center. The event will explore the pioneering efforts of University of Arizona researchers in ensuring safe and sustainable operations in space.

The Space4 Center at the University of Arizona leads efforts in tracking the increasing congestion between Earth and the moon. This work is deemed crucial for national security, successful lunar exploration, and the broader context of future space sustainability.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the University of Arizona Scottsdale Center. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by April 16, 2025.
