The Eldorado Aquatic Center in Scottsdale is hosting a family-friendly event on Sunday, July 30. From 4 to 9:30 p.m., attendees can participate in the annual Safety Luau, which aims to promote water safety while providing entertainment. The event will feature activities such as hula dancing and free open-swim sessions, concluding with a screening of Disney's "Lilo & Stitch." The center is located at 2301 N. Miller Road.
This yearly luau serves as a lead-up to Arizona's Drowning Impact Awareness Month in August. Kyu-Bin Hyun, Parks and Recreation Manager, stated, “We love hosting the Safety Luau every year. It gives families an opportunity to learn about water safety in a fun and informative way.” In alignment with this awareness month, Scottsdale Aquatics will offer free swimming lessons for all ages throughout August. Registration opens on Tuesday, July 25 for residents of Scottsdale and on Tuesday, August 1 for non-residents. Each participant can reserve one time slot when registering. For more information, visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search for "Aquatics."
