Scottsdale is examining potential changes to its noise ordinances, aiming to balance the vibrancy of its events and businesses with residents' concerns about noise levels. The city is seeking community input through a series of workshops designed to gather feedback on this issue.
Residents and business owners are invited to participate in any of three scheduled workshops. These sessions will take place on November 2 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., November 6 from 1 to 3 p.m., and November 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All workshops will be held at the Scottsdale Community Design Studio located at 7506 E. Indian School Road. Participants can choose the session that best fits their schedule, as each workshop will cover the same content.
The goal of these workshops is to discuss updates to the Special Noise Violations Ordinance outlined in Scottsdale Revised Code §§ 19-24 through 19-31. This ordinance currently restricts unreasonable noise generated by businesses serving alcohol or offering live entertainment, with the intent of protecting neighborhood tranquility while promoting public health and welfare.
