A new initiative in Scottsdale allows residents to receive email notifications when City Council meeting agendas are posted or amended. This service aims to enhance transparency and increase citizen engagement by offering timely access to meeting information.
Residents interested in subscribing can visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search for "City Clerk." Subscribers will then receive an email containing a link to each agenda as it becomes available.
"We are excited to introduce this new service, which will significantly improve timely notification of council meeting agendas,” said City Clerk Ben Lane. He noted that the City Clerk's Office would manage the system, adding, “The collaboration between the City Clerk's Office and the Information Technology staff has been outstanding, and we are grateful for their efforts in making this idea a reality."
Initially hindered by technical limitations, the city revisited the idea after a resident's suggestion, demonstrating its commitment to responding to citizens' needs. By implementing this solution, Scottsdale aims to maintain transparency by ensuring residents have easy access to important information.
The June 27 City Council Meeting will be the first instance where this new system is employed.
For more details on the email notification system or to subscribe for updates, residents can visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search "City Clerk."
