Scottsdale Airport is initiating a $1 million master planning project, largely funded by a Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program grant. This initiative aims to shape the airport's future over the next 20 years, with public involvement being a key component.

The master plan will not include a noise study but will focus on essential objectives. The process begins with an open house led by Coffman Associates, an aviation planning firm, scheduled for October 29 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Scottsdale Aviation Business Center, located at 15000 N. Airport Drive.

“Embarking on a master plan update is our proactive commitment to securing Scottsdale Airport’s long-term success as we soar to new heights in the aviation industry,” said Aviation Director Gary P. Mascaro. “This is an opportunity to explore innovative ideas and solutions with many audiences, including airport users, tenants, businesses and community members. Public input will be key to developing a plan that best serves our community.”

The master plan will assess current facilities and operations while prioritizing projects that enhance safety, efficiency, sustainability, and meet growing operational demands. The goal is to ensure Scottsdale Airport remains one of the nation's top general aviation hubs.

Throughout the 18-month process, Scottsdale will engage with stakeholders. To stay informed, individuals can subscribe to Scottsdale Airport’s e-newsletters and follow the airport on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook or Instagram.
