Fountain Hills councilman Allen Skillicorn is holding a press opportunity regarding the lawsuit he plans to file against the town and against Mayor Ginny Dickey.
The lawsuit claims that Skillicorn’s civil rights and free speech are being suppressed through town council actions. It claims “ blatant misuse of the town ethics code, weaponization of town hall, and election interference,” according to a press release from Skillicorn.
“There is a crime spree of corruption at the Fountain Hills town hall,” Skillicorn said.
Skillicorn will host a press conference on the lawsuit on Tuesday, May 14. The event will be held at the Sandra Day O'Connor U.S. Courthouse located at 401 W Washington St in Phoenix. The conference is scheduled for 1 p.m., and press, media, and members of the public are all welcome to attend and participate.
Skillicorn was sanctioned by the town of Fountain Hills in March after complaints of Skillicorn violating the Code of Ethics. The sanctions imposed on him by a split vote in the council meant he could not be vice-mayor, utilize taxpayer money for travel or events, or meet physically with workers unless a third party is present.
