Paradise Valley Community College issued the following announcement on Sept. 20.
Film is the most popular form of art and entertainment in the world and a wonderful way for us to communicate with each other. This month, enjoy the movies like the old days. Paradise Valley Community College’s Fall 2021 Film Festival will be held in-person this year at the college’s Center for Performing Arts, northeast side of campus. Doors open at 6 p.m.; however, seating is limited for social distancing. All films begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s film festival is provided in a dual format, in-person and virtually online. To view from the comfort of your own home, register here. Once registered, a Zoom link will be sent on Monday the week of each film via email.

-Wednesday, September 22, 2021 - Mustang (PG-13; 2015, Turkey, 97 minutes) CPA Mainstage Theater (indoors), Free Admission, 6:30pm
-Wednesday, September 29, 2021 - The German Doctor (PG-13; 2013, Argentina, 93 minutes) CPA Mainstage Theater (indoors), Free Admission, 6:30pm
-Wednesday, October 13, 2021 - Monsoon Wedding (R; 2001, India, 114 minutes) CPA Mainstage Theater (indoors), Free Admission, 6:30pm
-Wednesday, October 20, 2021 - Served Like a Girl (NR; 2017, U.S., 103 minutes) CPA Mainstage Theater (indoors), Free Admission, 6:30pm
A post film discussion will take place with Gary Zaro, director of the International Film Festival at PVCC and Humanities Professor.
“The International Film Festival at PVCC gives us a glimpse into other cultures to see their uniqueness, history, and what is important to them,” Zaro said. “It is also a great look into the universality of all countries and cultures and allows us the opportunity to see that oftentimes we share more than we realize. Travel around the world with us as we explore innovative films and fascinating cultures.”
