For people suffering with relentless sinus problems or persistent allergy symptoms, sinus specialists can now treat patients with a noninvasive procedure called "balloon sinuplasty."

Balloon sinuplasty is a quick procedure done in the doctor's office, where a balloon is pushed up into the sinus cavities, inflated to clear out the sinuses and then deflated and pulled out.

"Balloon sinuplasty is offered in-office, which means no hospitals, and those extra hidden fees are avoided. This procedure is minimally invasive, safe, painless, fast and effective. This procedure typically takes around 30 minutes and then you are on your way back home," Dr. John Stewart of Arizona Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers told NE Valley Times.

According to WebMD, the main goal of sinus surgery is to get relief from symptoms and reduce the number of sinus infections and other sinus issues a patient has over the course of a year.

"This is an appropriate intervention for sinuses that are no longer functioning optimally," Diana Ruiloba, a physician assistant at Arizona Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers, told NE Valley Times. "Overall, a great procedure to help improve quality of life by giving you an opportunity to breathe your best."

VeryWellHealth explains that a balloon sinuplasty is done without any incisions. Patients who undergo this type of procedure can return to work in an average of 1.4 days after surgery, according to a study published in the American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy.

If you believe you are suffering from sinus issues that are affecting your daily quality of life, Arizona Breathe Free's sinus quiz can help determine if seeking medical attention may help resolve your sinus problems.
