Honor Health Foundation issued the following announcement on Dec. 1
HonorHealth and FastMed Urgent Care announce that their joint venture transaction to manage 30 existing Arizona urgent care clinics is complete, and the clinics will now be operating under the co-branded name HonorHealth FastMed Urgent Care. In September, the two healthcare organizations announced their intention to form a joint venture to improve access in the Phoenix and Tucson markets.
“HonorHealth and FastMed share a common goal to deliver high-quality, convenient and affordable care,” said Todd LaPorte, CEO, HonorHealth. “Through this partnership, our patients will have increased access to urgent care and occupational health services that are closer to where they live and work.”
“Combining FastMed’s strengths in providing easy access to high-quality, affordable urgent and occupational healthcare with HonorHealth’s many strengths in delivering exceptional primary, specialty and tertiary care will create significant value for the patients and communities we serve,” said Web Golinkin, CEO of FastMed.
HonorHealth and FastMed are both committed to delivering the highest standards of care to patients in a safe environment. In October, FastMed was reaccredited by The Joint Commission for the second time, earning its coveted Gold Seal of Approval® for Ambulatory Care. FastMed is the only independent urgent care in Arizona to hold this accreditation, which signifies that it has met the industry’s highest quality and safety standards.
Additionally, in September, FastMed became the first independent urgent care operator to launch Epic, a leading electronic health record (EHR) system that is used by many of the nation’s largest health systems, including HonorHealth. This allows for better care coordination between the two organizations.
HonorHealth FastMed Urgent Care provides urgent care and occupational health services, in person and via telemedicine, and will closely coordinate patient care with HonorHealth’s six acute-care hospitals, physician practices, outpatient surgery centers and other network services, as needed. HonorHealth and FastMed share ownership in the new venture, with FastMed managing its day-to-day operations. HonorHealth continues to operate six wholly owned HonorHealth Urgent Care locations.
