Paradise Valley has provided $45,000 in community grants to organizations that have assisted people in need during COVID-19.
“The ones we felt were really pertinent to where we’re at today is places that focused on – anything that had to do with the homeless, shelters, helping with children in need, foster care, counseling – that’s really where the focus was,” Town Councilmember Scott Moore told Paradise Valley Independent.
The Town Council awarded $20,000 to Central AZ Shelter Services; $5,000 to Arizona Helping Hands; $5,000 to Duet Partners in Health and Aging; $5,000 to notMYkid; $4,000 to Save the Family Foundation of AZ; $3,000 to BSA, Grand Canyon Council; $2,000 to Franciscan Renewal Center; and $1,000 to Special Olympics Arizona.
While the council planned to originally distribute $65,000 in grants this year, the funding was decreased as the result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Community service organizations benefiting the town of Paradise Valley, its residents and broader community have been receiving municipal funding since 1986.
