Cactus League baseball fans and college students have taken spring break to a whole new level.
During the baseball season, local businesses have witnessed their best revenue numbers in years. However, according to Womply, a business software company, this is only one observation. Womply experts say the best is yet to come.
Womply’s team of data science experts have analyzed the sales numbers for every day of the calendar year in 2019. They looked at the sales numbers of over 5,000 local restaurants, retail businesses and lodging places.
The reports found that baseball fans and vacationing college students are great for the retail and restaurant industries. The lodging industry has seen a 27% increase in daily revenue.
The retail industry also reaps the rewards of a springtime boost. Daily revenue increased by 11%, which overshadows the previous 9% average.
Local restaurants have seen their revenue increase by 9% as well. While there are vending areas within the training camps, fans always head out to the local eateries for a hearty meal after a long day of cheering for their favorite teams.
