The Paiute Neighborhood Center and Via Linda Senior Center in Scottsdale will celebrate their 30th anniversaries with community events this week. These centers have played significant roles in providing social, recreational, and educational services to Scottsdale residents over the years. They have strengthened community ties through various programs and partnerships.
The Via Linda Senior Center has served Scottsdale’s aging population since 1995, offering daily programs and events. To mark its 30th anniversary, a celebration honoring past and present contributors will be held at 10440 E. Via Linda on March 25. Although the event has reached capacity, a waitlist is available.
The Paiute Neighborhood Center will host a Spring Festival on March 29 at 6535 E. Osborn Road. This family-friendly event requires no registration and promises music, games, and more.
In other news, construction on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard continues, affecting traffic around the Loop 101 bridge. Lane restrictions and closures are expected, with a full closure scheduled from March 28 to March 31. Drivers are advised to consider alternate routes.
Additionally, Scottsdale will close two trailheads in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve for asphalt maintenance. Brown’s Ranch Trailhead will be closed on March 26 and Lost Dog Wash Trailhead on March 27, resuming normal operations the following days.
The Neighborhood Advisory Commission has recognized Mary and John Garbaciak and Clayton Companies with the 2024 Spirit of Scottsdale Awards. The Garbaciaks were acknowledged for their commitment to maintaining Scottsdale roads, while Clayton Companies was honored for its long-standing contributions to Scottsdale's development.
