Scottsdale Airport is currently working on an Airport Master Plan Update, with two significant chapters already drafted: the Inventory of Existing Conditions and Aviation Activity Forecast. These drafts aim to provide insights into the airport's current assets and predict future aviation demand.
A public workshop is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Scottsdale Aviation Business Center located at 15000 N. Airport Drive, second floor. During this event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about these draft chapters and share their input with the project team, who will be available to answer questions.
The draft chapters are expected to be accessible on the website by Thursday, March 13.
“The Inventory and Forecast sections are key building blocks for Scottsdale Airport’s future,” said Kelli Kuester, aviation planning and outreach coordinator. “By understanding what we have now and anticipating future needs, we can make informed, feasible decisions to keep the airport running safely and efficiently for pilots, businesses, and the community.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plays a crucial role in reviewing and approving specific sections of an airport master plan. The FAA focuses on the Aviation Forecast and the Airport Layout Plan as these findings are essential in guiding future development.
