Scottsdale has introduced a new alert system to keep residents and visitors informed during large-scale events and emergencies. The RAVE Alert System, operated by the Scottsdale Police Department, provides timely notifications for incidents such as severe weather, public safety concerns, evacuations, missing persons, and special events.
The system will debut next week at the WM Phoenix Open. Attendees can receive updates specific to the event by texting GOLF25 to 67283. Although designed for special events like this one, the city urges all residents to register for emergency alerts.
Users can customize their notifications based on preferences for receiving updates about weather, safety, and utility issues. Alerts are delivered via text message, email, or voice call.
This initiative is part of a statewide effort to improve public safety through enhanced communication technology.
