Scottsdale has recently seen a change in its leadership as newly elected Mayor Lisa Borowsky took her oath of office. Joining her are new City Council members Jan Dubauskas, Adam Kwasman, and Maryann McAllen. The inauguration was held at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and was open to the public.

These officials join Vice Mayor Barry Graham and current City Council members Kathy Littlefield and Solange Whitehead to form the city's seven-member governing body. Residents can learn more about the council by visiting ScottsdaleAZ.gov and searching for "City Council."

In another significant development, Greg Caton has been appointed as Interim City Manager following Bill Murphy's departure. Caton brings experience from his previous roles as city manager in Grand Junction, Colorado, town manager in Oro Valley, Arizona, and assistant city manager in Durango, Colorado. He holds degrees from Fort Lewis College and the University of Colorado at Denver.

The city encourages residents to participate in upcoming public meetings to stay informed about local issues. Meetings include sessions by the Planning Commission and Neighborhood Advisory Commission on January 22nd, followed by others like the Human Services Advisory Commission on January 23rd.

Residents can also engage with community events such as the Regional Unity Walk on January 25th at Tempe Beach Park or attend activities during Scottsdale Western Week from January 25th to February 2nd.

In preparation for this year's WM Phoenix Open, Greenway Hayden Loop will be closed starting January 27th to streamline entry and improve crowd flow. Attendees are advised to check parking details on the event's website.

Additionally, Scottsdale is seeking a Utility Billing Specialist to ensure accurate billing processes that support essential city services. Interested candidates can apply through the city's job portal.

For further information or assistance with city services, residents can contact the City Call Center or use Scottsdale EZ for requests.
