Most city offices and facilities in Scottsdale will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 23 and 24, in observance of Thanksgiving. Trash and recycling services will not operate on Thursday, November 23, with collections rescheduled to occur one day later than usual through Saturday. Libraries and pools will also remain closed on both days.

The Scottsdale Trolley will suspend operations on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, with services resuming the following day. For more information about holiday schedules, residents are encouraged to visit the Valley Metro website.

In other news, the redevelopment of the CrackerJax site into a project named "The Parque" is progressing. The Scottsdale City Council has approved this mixed-use redevelopment plan for a 32-acre site that previously housed the CrackerJax amusement park on North Scottsdale Road. The development will feature a variety of buildings surrounding a two-acre "Central Park" green space open to the community. Plans include over 250,000 square feet of commercial space along with hotel and residential units totaling up to 1,322 combined units.

The project emphasizes sustainable practices with a focus on water conservation, aligning with Scottsdale's commitment to eco-friendly urban development. The next step involves submitting a Development Review Board application for the first phase. Once approved by the board as consistent with City Council approval, construction plans can be submitted for permits. This process typically takes eight to twelve months per phase.
