The city of Scottsdale, in collaboration with its Veterans Advisory Commission, is organizing an event to honor Vietnam veterans on March 29, which is recognized as National Vietnam Veterans Day. The event will take place at the 360 Stage on Scottsdale Civic Center and will begin with a structured social hour at 5:30 p.m.
This free gathering aims to provide a platform for the community to engage with Vietnam veterans, offering live music and food. It serves as an opportunity for attendees to express gratitude and learn about the veterans' experiences and sacrifices.
An RSVP is requested to ensure adequate provisions are made for all participants. The event will also distribute Vietnam veteran lapel pins to those who served during the Vietnam era, courtesy of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration. Special pins are available for families who lost a member during that time, along with materials for expressing support.
The United States Congress established this commemoration program to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and honor those who served. Scottsdale proudly participates in this initiative. More information can be found at VietnamWar50th.com.
Acknowledgment is extended to the Veterans Heritage Project for their support in organizing this event.
