The upcoming general election in Scottsdale is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, and several key voter deadlines are approaching. Unlike the previous special election in November 2021, this election will offer both in-person voting and vote-by-mail options.
Important dates for voters include:
- Tuesday, October 11: This is the last day to register to vote. To verify eligibility, visit BeBallotReady.Vote or contact the Maricopa County Elections Department at 602-506-1511.
- Wednesday, October 12: Ballots will be mailed to those on the Active Early Voting List. Voters can track their ballot status by visiting BeBallotReady.Vote or texting “JOIN” to 628-683. In-person voting also begins on this date. Voters can request a replacement ballot, vote in person, or drop off early ballots at designated Scottsdale locations including Florence Ely Nelson Desert Park and Indian Bend Wash Visitor Center. Scottsdale City Hall will serve as a ballot drop-off site.
- Friday, October 28: This marks the last day to request a ballot by mail.
- Tuesday, November 1: It is recommended that completed ballots be mailed by this date.
Maricopa County will provide "vote anywhere" Vote Centers allowing voters flexibility in choosing locations instead of being assigned one specific site. These centers open on Wednesday, October 12 with additional locations becoming available during early voting. On Election Day, all voting sites will operate from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., though hours may vary during early voting periods.
In this election cycle, registered Scottsdale voters will decide between Pamela Carter and Barry Graham for the third and final seat on Scottsdale’s City Council. Incumbents Kathy Littlefield and Solange Whitehead secured re-election during the primary by obtaining a majority of votes for their respective seats. The winners are set to assume office in January 2023.
