The Scottsdale Parks and Recreation Department is seeking public input for its new Master Plan. This plan aims to outline key initiatives, policies, and strategies for the city's parks and recreation over the next decade. Public feedback is essential to ensure that future priorities align with community needs.

Residents are encouraged to visit ShapeScottsdaleParks.com, where they can participate in an online survey, comment on interactive maps, and stay updated on the project's progress. The department plans to engage the public further through surveys, workshops, focus groups, and outreach at community events in the coming months. Signing up for email updates on the website is recommended to stay informed about these opportunities.

The current master plan was conducted in 2015 and led to various improvements such as upgrades at Indian Bend Wash lakes & irrigation, Thompson Peak off-leash area, and Ashler Hills Neighborhood Park.

This new planning effort focuses specifically on Scottsdale's parks and recreation system-wide recommendations. It will integrate with other city plans like the five-year strategic plan adopted in early 2023. The ongoing Indian School Park master plan process began in April 2023 and will contribute its findings to this broader effort. The overall master plan will also align with city-wide goals as defined by City Council direction and General Plan 2035.
