Scottsdale implements new short-term rental rules aligning with state law

The Scottsdale City Council has implemented new regulations for short-term rental properties. These rules require operators to secure a local license, conduct background checks on guests, maintain liability insurance, and notify neighbors. The ordinance aligns with Arizona Senate Bill 1168, which was enacted in July.

Residents interested in learning more about these changes can register for an online presentation titled "Short-Term Rentals – the long and short of it," scheduled for November 3.

In other news, closures are planned for Loops 101 and 202 due to ongoing roadworks. Specific ramps will be closed from November 2 to November 4, with full freeway closures scheduled from November 4-7. Detours will be available via Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Pinnacle Peak Road.

Scottsdale voters are reminded that November 1 is the last recommended day to mail ballots to ensure they are counted. Ballots can also be dropped off at designated locations throughout the city. The upcoming election includes a City Council race between Pamela Carter and Barry Graham.

Residents are encouraged to participate in a survey regarding Scottsdale's draft Sustainability Plan 2022. This initiative aims to enhance quality of life while preserving the environment.
