Job seekers in Scottsdale have a unique opportunity this month to not only connect with potential employers but also enhance their professional image. The What to Wear Career Fair, scheduled for Thursday, March 21 at Scottsdale’s Vista del Camino Community Center, will provide job seekers with the chance to improve their professional wardrobe for free before engaging with a variety of Valley employers.

According to Career Services Center Case Worker Sheila Williams, "Many generous community members showed up and donated these items for job seekers in need. We’ve gathered 2,500 pounds worth of items, so far, and we’re expecting more to come in before the event."

The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature a pop-up boutique offering gently used professional clothing and accessories, including personal protective equipment for manual labor and technical positions. Williams highlighted the significance of the event, stating, "This is a great event that pairs employers with local candidates and helps those candidates look professional for their interviews."

A wide range of employers will be participating in the career fair, including ABM Industries, Arcadia Homecare, Banner Health, BMO Harris, and the Scottsdale Police Department, among others. Job seekers are encouraged to come prepared to potentially interview with their next employer.

Interested individuals can attend the event as walk-ins, but RSVPs are recommended. Vista del Camino Community Center, the venue for the fair, is located at 7700 East Roosevelt St. in Scottsdale. For more information or to RSVP, contact 480-312-2323 or email [email protected]

The event organizers urge the community to spread the word and share the event flyer to help those seeking job opportunities. Additional job resources can be found through ARIZONA@WORK for those looking to further their career prospects.
