The Scottsdale community is coming together to honor and thank Vietnam veterans on March 29, National Vietnam Veterans Day. A free lunchtime event will be hosted at 11:30 a.m. at the Scottsdale Civic Center East Bowl. The event aims to show appreciation for the service and sacrifice of Vietnam veterans.

According to the Scottsdale Veterans Advisory Commission, the event is an opportunity for the community to meet Vietnam veterans and hear their stories firsthand. In addition to a complimentary lunch for registered guests, the event will feature a display of classic vehicles from the 1960s and 1970s, a special guest speaker from the Veterans Heritage Project, and information about HonorHealth's combat medic training program.

Vietnam veteran lapel pins will be distributed to all those who served during the Vietnam era, courtesy of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration. Special pins will also be available for family members who lost loved ones during the conflict. Attendees will have the chance to show their support for Vietnam veterans with materials provided at the event.

The United States Congress established the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and express gratitude to veterans and their families for their contributions. Scottsdale proudly participates in this program, demonstrating its commitment to honoring those who served in the Vietnam War. More information about the commemoration can be found at VietnamWar50th.com.
