The Arizona Department of Transportation has announced the closure of northbound Loop 101 between Raintree Drive and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard for a 7-hour period on March 10. The closure is part of a two-year project aimed at improving interchanges on Loop 101. According to the department, motorists can stay informed by subscribing to project updates on ADOT’s website.

In an effort to honor Vietnam veterans, the Scottsdale community is invited to attend a free event on March 29 at the Scottsdale Civic Center East Bowl. The event will include a complimentary lunch, a display of classic vehicles, and special guest speakers. The Veterans Advisory Commission is hosting the event, providing an opportunity for attendees to meet Vietnam veterans and hear their stories of service and sacrifice.

Vietnam veteran lapel pins will be distributed to all who served during the Vietnam era, along with special pins for those who lost family members. The event is part of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, established by Congress to honor veterans and their families.

Scottsdale residents and business owners have the opportunity to learn about city operations through the Scottsdale Government 101 Citizen Academy. The academy, limited to 40 participants, offers interactive learning experiences and hands-on activities to enhance understanding of city operations.

In terms of public meetings, various city committees and boards have scheduled meetings throughout the month of March to discuss city issues, projects, and activities. Residents are encouraged to attend or listen in on these meetings to stay informed.

For those looking for things to do in Scottsdale, Rodeo Scottsdale will be taking place at WestWorld from March 7-10, featuring professional rodeo events. Additionally, a free showing of the movie "The Sandlot" will be held on March 9 at Scottsdale Civic Center, and families can attend the "Exclusively Little" event at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park on March 16.

Various programs and services are also available in Scottsdale, including the Neighborhood College Spring Series and the "Shred It" event for document disposal. Residents can also donate professional clothing to support Vista del Camino’s Career Closet Dress for Success Program.

Lastly, the city reminds residents about ongoing construction projects and the importance of smoke alarm maintenance as the temperatures rise. Additionally, the job of the week, Senior Stormwater Engineer, is open for applications, focusing on stormwater-related issues and flood control studies in the city.
