Fountain Hills Councilman Allen Skillicorn shared an original cartoon on his personal X page over Thanksgiving. The cartoon, entitled “Thanksgiving w/ Matt Walsh (feat. Matt Walsh),” was posted by Seamus Coughlin on the Freedomtoon YouTube channel.
The cartoon was a parody of the documentary “What is a Woman,” which features Matt Walsh asking and exploring the titular question. The Thanksgiving parody follows the theme with the question “What is a turkey?” The video ends with the turkey being served as part of the Thanksgiving meal.
Two residents spoke during the Dec. 19 Fountain Hills Council meeting to express their displeasure with Skillicorn sharing the video on his social media. They asked the council to decide if Skillicorn "should be sanctioned."
“Political cartoons have a rich and sometimes sarcastic history in the United States. The original cartoon by Freedomtoons is both funny and timely." Skillicorn said in a press release.
