The city’s Reclaimed Water Distribution System supplies recycled water to 26 golf courses citywide, which has saved more than 100 billion gallons of precious, potable water through its decades of service.

Scottsdale's Advanced Water Treatment Plant is one of the most sophisticated recycled water facilities in the world - the first permanent facility in Arizona and only the third in the nation to be permitted for direct potable reuse.

These world-class systems help Scottsdale Water achieve 100 percent reuse of the city’s wastewater - a critical water resource in these times of drought and shortage.

In addition to irrigation use, the city uses the highly treated recycled water from the AWT plant to recharge the local aquifer, further advancing Scottsdale’s long-term water sustainability.
